PROPERTY & PROCUREMENT

PROPERTY, PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN

Greater together. Strong partnerships. Better outcomes.

At Momentum, people make the difference. In procurement, strong partnerships and shared outcomes mean we deliver more, greater together.

As one of New Zealand’s most experienced recruitment partners to both Government (AoG) and the corporate sector, we understand that procurement isn’t just about purchasing. It’s about strategy, relationships, risk, and sustained performance.

Trusted across All of Government (AoG) and the Private Sector

We’re proud to work with a broad range of clients, including central and local government agencies, state-owned enterprises, Crown entities, not-for-profits, and leading private sector organisations. Our approach is tailored to each environment, recognising the different governance, assurance, and commercial realities our clients operate within.

We have deep experience working within AoG panels, probity requirements, and public-sector assurance frameworks, giving clients confidence that every engagement meets both commercial and compliance expectations.

A Partnership-Led Approach

We work closely with our clients to gain a deep understanding of your organisation, operating environment, and desired outcomes. This insight allows us to connect you with the right people. Professionals who deliver impact, not just capability.

We bring a market-informed advisory lens, offering insights into remuneration trends, talent availability, and emerging capability gaps across the procurement and commercial landscape.

SEASONAL DEMANDS

Businesses often require extra manpower during peak seasons or specific times of the year, such as holidays or busy periods, to handle increased workload efficiently without committing to permanent hires.

SPECIAL PROJECTS OR EVENTS

Companies undertake short-term projects or events that demand additional resources or specialized skills. Temporary employees can be brought in to support these endeavors without long-term obligations.

EMPLOYEE ABSENCES OR LEAVES

Unforeseen absences due, for example, to illness or parental leave can leave gaps in the workforce. Temp employees can fill in these roles, ensuring the continuity of operations until permanent solutions are found.

Our process

  • 1. CLIENT BRIEFING & MARKET RESEARCH

We build our understanding of your organisation and develop a complete overview of the role. We complete a thorough search of potential candidates, from within the Momenlum database and other sources.

  • 2. ADVERTISING

We customise an advertising campaign for each of our clients that differs depending on their requirements. We utilise multiple job boards such as Seek and Linkedln, social media channels and platforms to build our long list.

  • 3. SCREENING

From our applications list we screen the candidates with a 20-30 minute phone conversation to gauge communication style, relevant experience and organisational fit.

  • 4. LONGLIST DISCUSSION

We present the 5 to 10 most suitable candidate's curriculum vitae and cover letter (if included), and discuss our conversations and their background with you to determine your preferences.

  • 5. INTERNAL INTERVIEW

We invite the preferred candidates in for a full competency-based interview, helping us to realise a candidate's capability and expertise.

  • 6. SHORTLIST PRESENTATION

Together with you, we agree and finalise the short list of candidates, and liaise with you to set up interviews.

  • 7. PROBITY CHECKS

We complete full probity checks on all candidates that are moving forward in the process. This includes criminal, credit (if required) and qualification checks. We have a priority relationship with Ministry of Justice, meaning our criminal checks are returned within 2 to 3 days.

  • 8. PSYCHOMETRIC ASSESSMENT

Recommended for senior leadership roles, ensuring well-rounded understanding of a candidate's abilities (before or after client interviews) and before reference checks because often these inform further interview and referee questions exploring key areas in more depth.

  • 9. REFERENCE CHECKS

We typically complete two to three verbal reference checks on candidates to assist with the selection process. This can be tailored for specific role competencies or to probe any areas of interest or concern after the completion of Psychometric Assessment.

  • 10. OFFER, NEGOTIATION & ONBOARDING

We present the offer and negotiate with the selected candidate.
