This is a varied, hands-on architecture role with a well-known New Zealand organisation going through a multi year transformation. If you're an intermediate level Solution Architect who'd rather be doing the work than sitting in governance meetings, this one's worth a look.
The Role
Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you'll take ownership of day-to-day solutioning across a broad range of initiatives, freeing up the team to focus on a other priorities. The work is practical and lightweight by design.
You'll be across:
- Options analysis and vendor evaluations, including an LMS selection
- Writing high-level solution designs
- Working with BAs and PMs to translate requirements into workable designs
- Running workshops and facilitated sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Risk analysis and communicating technical risk in plain language to business audiences
- Azure and Azure Integration Services (AIS) as the integration layer
- Solutioning with AI components and understanding the complexity that comes with it
Must-haves:
- Solid experience as a Solution Architect across a range of domains (applications, integration, cloud, data)
- Comfortable working in an environment where architecture maturity is still developing
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to engage business and technical audiences equally well
- Confidence to form and express a view, and the patience to take people along with you
- Solutions here come from BAs, PMs, and the business. The job is sometimes to guide and validate, not always to lead.
- Ability to juggle multiple concurrent initiatives
- Logistics, supply chain or ajacent experience
- Familiarity with Azure AIS, Salesforce, or JDE (ERP)
The architecture practice here is evolving, which means your work will be visible and your input valued. You won't be one of six architects implementing someone else's patterns. You'll have real influence.

The initial term is 3 months, with strong likelihood of extension. The right person will find no shortage of work here for the foreseeable future.
