Senior Tester (Automation & API integration)

Senior Tester (Automation & API Integration) | Contract (6month, potential for extension) | Auckland | ASAP Start

Our client is undergoing a significant digital transformation, with multiple integration-heavy platforms and customer-facing systems in flight, we’re looking for a Senior Tester to help ensure quality is embedded from design through to delivery.

About the role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident across API and integration testing, comfortable working in Agile squads, and passionate about building robust, scalable test practices in modern microservices environments. You'll be:  

• Testing APIs and integrations across Spring Boot / Mule / Java environments
• Designing and executing manual and automated tests (JUnit, Cucumber/BDD)
• Validating REST APIs using tools such as Postman
• Testing message queues, data transformations, and file-based integrations
• Contributing to regression suite maintenance and automation within CI/CD pipelines
• Working closely with developers, BAs, and product teams to embed quality early

About you
To be successful on this role, you'll bring:  

• Strong experience in API and integration testing within Spring Boot / Mule / Java environments
• Proven automation capability using JUnit and Cucumber (BDD approach)
• Familiarity with GitHub and Jenkins in CI/CD environments
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and integration flows
• Exposure to MuleSoft, DMS platforms, or SaaS environments is highly desirable.
