Seeking Technical Project Managers at the top of their game!

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing, employee-owned SaaS business. Self-funded and profitable, they have built a dominant position in their core markets and are now scaling aggressively into enterprise accounts across New Zealand and international markets.

The Role:

This is a newly created senior position within a lean, high-performing delivery function. As the only Project Manager based in Auckland, you will own a portfolio of 3-4 concurrent projects at any one time.

You will be working on a live, customer-led platform where features are built in parallel with deployment. This is not a greenfield build or a textbook implementation. Your ability to manage evolving scope, shifting priorities and stakeholder expectations around work-in-progress is critical to success.

You will also play a key role in lifting delivery capability across the business, mentoring junior staff and embedding best practice where many projects are run by non-PMs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage dependencies and the critical path across live platform development
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders around evolving and incomplete parts of the platform
  • Prioritise effectively across the full business, not just a single project
  • Uplift and mentor junior staff
  • International travel will be required on an ad-hoc basis
Required skills:
  • A strong technical delivery background, not just stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated experience managing bespoke or "build-as-you-go" projects, not just straight implementations.
  • Confidence to push back on stakeholders, including strong personalities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, reprioritisation, and managing across multiple workstreams concurrently
  • Experience delivering software projects with a build or development component
  • A track record that reflects tenure and commitment
  • Familiarity working in an environment that uses AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code)
What's in it for you?

The Auckland headquarters has a culture that is fast-paced, performance-oriented and genuinely high-trust. Promotions happen quickly, attrition is extremely low, and the business rewards people who deliver.
  • Competitive remuneration
  • Discretionary bonus available
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus a high-trust flexible leave policy
  • Employee ownership opportunity, including shares in the business
  • Open to contractors looking to return to permanent employment
