Our favourite client in the Waikato with an awesome CPO needs an experienced HR Consultant/Senior HR Advisor, on a contract basis, to provide specialist HR, employment relations and change support to a significant organisational transformation programme.

Working alongside the CPO, Transformation Lead, People & Capability team and senior leaders, you will provide the HR and ER expertise needed to support a fair, robust and well-managed restructure process.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on contract role for an experienced HR professional who understands the complexities of organisational change and can quickly provide trusted advice, practical support and strong process discipline.
You will play a key role in supporting consultation activities, preparing documentation, coaching leaders, assessing employment risk and ensuring change processes are delivered in line with New Zealand employment relations requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing HR and employment relations advice throughout the restructure process.
- Preparing and reviewing consultation documentation, employee communications and decision documentation.
- Supporting consultation activities and stakeholder engagement.
- Coaching leaders through change conversations and employment processes.
- Assisting with feedback analysis and outcome documentation.
- Supporting role matching, redeployment and implementation activities.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring a robust process trail.
You are an experienced HR practitioner with strong employment relations capability and practical experience supporting organisational change.
Most importantly, you will being a sense of humour and warm friendly personality; and you relish the opportunity of working within P&C teams that genuinely respect one another and enjoy working together!
You may come from a Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, Employment Relations or Change Consultant background, but you will bring:
- Significant HR and employment relations experience within NZ.
- Proven experience supporting restructures, consultation processes and organisational change initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of NZ employment legislation and good faith obligations.
- Experience working within a unionised environment and alongside collective employment agreements.
- Exceptional written communication skills and confidence drafting formal employment documentation.
- Strong judgement, credibility and the ability to coach leaders through sensitive situations.
- The ability to work at pace while maintaining attention to detail and process integrity.
