Our favourite client in the Waikato, with an awesome CPO needs an experienced HR Consultant/Senior HR Advisor, on a contract basis, to provide specialist HR, employment relations, and change experience.

Working alongside an awesome CPO, within the People & Capability team, the role is to support senior leaders, providing HR advice and ER expertise needed to support some upcoming change.

The Opportunity
This is a hands-on contract role for an experienced HR professional who understands the complexities of organisational change and can quickly provide trusted advice, practical support and strong process discipline.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing HR and employment relations advice during a period of change.
  • Preparing and reviewing consultation documentation, employee communications and decision documentation.
  • Supporting consultation activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coaching leaders through change conversations and employment processes.
  • Assisting with feedback analysis and outcome documentation.
  • Supporting role matching, redeployment and implementation activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring a robust process trail.
About You
You are an experienced HR practitioner with strong employment relations capability and practical experience supporting organisational change.

Most importantly, you will have a warm, friendly and approachable personality; and you relish the opportunity of working within P&C team that genuinely collaborates and enjoy working together!

You may come from a Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, or Employment Relations Specialist background, but you will bring:
  • Significant HR and employment relations experience within NZ.
  • Proven experience supporting restructures, consultation processes and organisational change initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ employment legislation and good faith obligations.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment and alongside collective employment agreements.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and confidence drafting formal employment documentation.
  • Strong judgement, credibility and the ability to coach leaders through sensitive situations.
  • The ability to work at pace while maintaining attention to detail and process integrity.
