A rare high-impact finance role sitting within the Planning & Performance function of a well-known NZX/ASX-listed financial services group has opened up.   With a strong emphasis on performance reporting, you'll be the subject matter expert on the business's financial results; owning the analysis, interpretation and communication of performance across lending portfolios, business units and channels.

The balance of the role is split across business partnering and forecasting, making this a genuinely well-rounded position for a senior finance professional who thrives at the intersection of numbers and narrative.

What You'll Be Doing

Performance Reporting (primary focus)
  • Lead analysis of financial results, identifying key trends, drivers and risks requiring management attention
  • Serve as the go-to expert on the results across the Group
  • Prepare and review internal and external reporting packs, including Board materials, flash reports and results announcements
Business Partnering
  • Partner directly with business unit leads to monitor performance against budgets and return on capital targets
  • Influence senior stakeholders and contribute to initiatives designed to meet financial targets
  • Model projected financial outcomes and report on actuals
Forecasting & Planning
  • Support the delivery of robust annual plans, budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Ensure stakeholder engagement, model granularity and governance requirements are met throughout the planning cycle
  • Work with the business to ensure forecast inputs reflect current plans, pricing intentions and commercial activity
Leadership & Culture
  • Mentor and develop Senior Analysts and Analysts within the team
  • Contribute to the Finance vision and champion a collaborative, high-performance culture
What You'll Bring
  • CA, CPA or ACCA qualified (required)
  • 7–10+ years in FP&A, ideally within financial services (banking, insurance or fintech)
  • Proven track record in management performance reporting, analysis and enterprise forecasting cycles
  • Strong communicator with confidence presenting to and influencing senior leadership
  • Commercial acumen ability to translate financial data into strategic decisions
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; exposure to Power BI advantageous
  • Self-driven, resilient and comfortable operating at pace in a complex environment
Why This Role?

You'll be joining a progressive, digitally focused organisation that genuinely invests in its people. The role offers real breadth; performance reporting that carries weight at Board level, meaningful business partnering relationships, and the opportunity to shape financial outcomes across the Group. If you're a technically strong finance professional who also brings commercial confidence and strong interpersonal skills, this is a compelling next step.  This is a rare opportunity to join a team that typically has long tenures due to it's amazing culture.
