You will need to be an experienced Employment Relations Specialist for this immediate start (ideally) contract opportunity with a well-established business that has a national presence and multiple sites across New Zealand.
This role requires someone who can hit the ground running but your induction will cover the nuances of the business and time to meet the key stakeholders.
You'll bring strong technical ER expertise, sound employment law knowledge and experience supporting people through change consultations and a period of restructuring.
Working alongside leaders and the People & Culture team, you will provide expert guidance on a range of employment matters, some complex, such as disciplinaries, while helping manage risk and deliver practical outcomes.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role for an experienced ER practitioner who enjoys solving complex problems, managing sensitive cases and providing pragmatic advice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a range of disciplinary, performance, investigation and grievance matters.
- Supporting organisational change, consultation and restructuring processes.
- Providing specialist advice on employment legislation and ER best practice.
- Assessing employment risk and recommending practical solutions.
- Coaching leaders through challenging people matters.
- Contributing to ER policies, frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
You are a seasoned Employment Relations professional with the confidence to operate autonomously and add value quickly.
You will bring:
- Significant Employment Relations experience within a medium to large or multi-site business.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation.
- Proven experience managing a range of ER casework.
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
- Experience supporting organisations through change.
- Strong judgement, resilience and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence leaders and provide sound pragmatic advice.
