About the role
We're partnering with a well-known organisation to secure a Senior Data Engineer for an initial 3-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can quickly get under the hood of an existing data platform, untangle complexity, and drive improvements with minimal direction. You'll work closely with the Head of Data to assess current challenges, define the right approach, and implement practical solutions across a Snowflake and Coalesce environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Untangling and simplifying existing data pipelines
- Resolving synchronisation and metadata issues across Coalesce, Snowflake and GitHub
- Building and implementing isolated development environments using Snowflake zero-copy clones
- Troubleshooting and correcting existing node configurations
- Simplifying unnecessarily complex transformation pipelines
- Reviewing data modelling and pipeline design to ensure best-practice implementation
- Consolidating and optimising data workflows where appropriate
You'll be a senior-level Data Engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys improving existing platforms rather than building from scratch.
To be considered, you'll need:
- Proven experience with Coalesce( non-negotiable)
- Strong commercial experience with Snowflake
- The ability to diagnose, simplify and optimise complex data pipelines
- Experience working independently and providing technical leadership
- Consultancy experience and the ability to talk to both enternal & internal teams professionally
- Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to delivery
- Experience with GitHub or similar source control tools would be beneficial
