Senior Amazon Connect & AWS Engineer | Auckland (Hybrid) | Contract (6-month)
We're partnering with a leading New Zealand organisation on a rare opportunity for an experienced cloud engineer to take ownership of a modern customer engagement platform. This is a hands-on role where you'll combine Amazon Connect, AWS, Terraform and Python to build scalable, intelligent customer experiences while working with some of the latest AI capabilities available on AWS.
About the role
You'll be responsible for designing, engineering and supporting a modern Amazon Connect environment, delivering robust cloud-native solutions that improve both customer experience and operational performance.
Working across engineering, architecture and platform delivery, you'll:
- Design, build and administer Amazon Connect environments, including contact flows, routing, queues and omnichannel capabilities.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway and event-driven architectures.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and support CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate Amazon Connect with Salesforce and other enterprise platforms.
- Implement Generative AI capabilities including Amazon Q, prompt engineering and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Lead technical design, documentation, testing, production deployments and knowledge transfer.
You'll be an experienced cloud engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering enterprise-scale customer platforms. You'll bring experience with:
- Amazon Connect engineering and administration.
- AWS cloud services, including Lambda and serverless application development using Python.
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- API development, integrations and event-driven architectures.
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Enterprise contact centre or CCaaS platforms.
