This organisation is a collective of three specialist companies formed to deliver middleware services, products, and niche capability to the New Zealand and Australian markets. Spanning software development, consulting services, and subject matter expertise, the Group brings together around 50 talented professionals united by a shared commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for their clients.

Relationships are at the heart of everything. They go above and beyond to truly understand their customers' challenges and provide the best possible solutions, and the people who thrive here share that same dedication to quality and partnership.

About the Role
This is a newly created position, reporting directly to the Director, and represents a genuine opportunity to shape and define how they operate internally as the business continues to grow.

As Operations & Resource Manager, you will be the connective tissue across the business, bringing structure, visibility, and rigour to how projects are resourced, how contracts are managed, and how the organisation plans for the future. You'll take a fragmented set of operational functions and build them into a cohesive, well-run engine that enables the delivery teams to focus on what they do best.

This is a hands-on, standalone role for someone who is energised by building things from the ground up and comfortable operating with autonomy at a senior level.

Key responsibilities/what you’ll be doing:
  • Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure the effective delivery of IT solutions and services across the business.
  • Implement and maintain best-practice processes that improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Allocate technical and project resources based on skills, capacity, and project requirements across concurrent engagements.
  • Maintain a real-time view of resource availability, workloads, and utilisation across the business.
  • Produce accurate forecasts for resource demand aligned to the project pipeline.
  • Provide the Director with data-driven insights on resource and operational trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain a centralised contract repository, creating a single source of truth for governance and accessibility.
  • Standardise contract processes and documentation across the organisation.
  • Monitor contract performance, service levels, and obligations on an ongoing basis.
  • Oversee the evaluation and processing of contract and project variations.
  • Ensure all changes are properly documented, financially assessed, approved through the right channels, and communicated clearly to relevant stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
  • 5–10 years of experience in an operations, resource management, or commercial management role.
  • A solid background working within an IT services, managed services, or technology consulting environment is essential - you need to understand how IT projects are structured and delivered.
  • Proven experience managing commercial contracts, including variations, renewals, and compliance obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or improve operational processes in a growing business.
  • Experience working across multiple concurrent projects or engagements.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills - comfortable working with data to drive decisions.
  • Confident communicator who can engage effectively with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially minded, with a solid understanding of contract principles and financial implications of variations.
  • Proficiency in project management and/or resource planning tools (specific platforms flexible — what matters is the experience and mindset).
Personal Attributes
  • A natural problem-solver who takes ownership and follows through.
  • Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity - this role is yours to shape.
  • Relationship-oriented: you understand that how you work with people matters as much as the outcomes you deliver.
  • Proactive by nature and can spot issues before they become problems and act accordingly.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same.
This is a great opportunity to build from scratch and to take real ownership of how it shapes and the value you can deliver.  Join a close-knit, high-performing team that takes pride in the quality of their work and the strength of their client relationships. If you're an experienced operations professional with a background in IT services and a passion for bringing order to complexity, we'd love to hear from you.
