We are partnering with a wonderful values-led organisation in the Waikato region seeking an experienced Remuneration, Benefits & Inclusion Advisor to undertake a focused three-month contract, starting as soon as possible.
The Executive Leadership team including the CPO is impressive and provide a supportive, values-grounded environment. The team work at pace and have an exciting remit for 2026. This contract is a clearly defined piece of work with visible impact, that you will be proud to complete!
The key foci is about strengthening and optimising existing remuneration and inclusion settings. The foundations are in place — now the organisation needs someone practical and experienced to review what’s working, address inconsistencies, and provide clear recommendations that lift confidence, equity and transparency.
The contract can be structured either as an hourly rate or fixed-term contract. There is good flexibility, including the ability to work partly remotely. If you are based in Auckland or the Bay of Plenty, it's a pretty easy commute for the days you need to be in the office. If you live in the Waikato, then that is perfect!
This is a hands-on advisory role focused on reviewing, refining and improving remuneration frameworks and related inclusion settings.
This is not a theoretical design role. It requires someone who can quickly assess current practice, identify gaps or risks, and deliver pragmatic, workable improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review current remuneration and benefits frameworks, including allowances, incentives and non-financial benefits
- Lead and support remuneration review processes and cyclical activities
- Provide day-to-day remuneration advice (job sizing, offers, internal movements, queries)
- Identify inconsistencies, risks or pain points in decision-making practices
- Review DEI-related settings, including pay equity and workforce data
- Analyse remuneration and workforce data to identify trends and gaps
- Provide clear, practical recommendations to improve fairness, transparency and consistency
- Refresh plain-language guidance for leaders and People & Culture
- Work collaboratively with HRIS, Finance, Payroll and Unions where required
- Solid experience in remuneration, benefits or workforce analytics within a medium to large organisation
- Working knowledge of pay equity and inclusion principles
- Strong analytical capability and confidence working with data
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset
- The ability to balance advisory input with hands-on delivery
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain complex matters in plain language
- A fair, thoughtful and mana-enhancing approach
