Deer Industry New Zealand (DINZ) is the industry body representing New Zealand's deer farming, velvet, and venison sectors. With a broad reach across farmers, processors, veterinarians, and government agencies, DINZ plays a vital role in setting and upholding quality standards across the industry.
The Opportunity
If you're someone who loves getting into the detail, enjoys working with people, and wants to be at the heart of a respected industry organisation, this could be the perfect next step for you.
As the Quality Assurance Coordinator, you'll be the operational backbone of DINZ's quality assurance function. That means administering programmes, managing databases, coordinating audits, and building genuine relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the sector.
And this is far more than a standard admin role. You'll work closely alongside the Quality Assurance Manager and progressively take on greater responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grows. For the right person, there's a real pathway into quality assurance leadership here.
The role is based full time in DINZ's Wellington office.
What You'll Be Doing
- Administering and coordinating key DINZ quality assurance programmes
- Keeping programme records, registrations, and databases accurate and up to date
- Building solid working relationships with farmers, veterinarians, auditors, processors, transport operators, and government agencies
- Supporting the Quality Assurance Manager with audit coordination, reporting, programme reviews, and stakeholder communications
- Providing coordination and admin support to technical committees, advisory groups
- Spotting opportunities to improve systems and processes and helping make them happen
- Building deep knowledge of DINZ's quality assurance programmes with a clear path to take on more over time
You're a motivated, detail oriented professional who takes ownership of your work and communicates well. You enjoy working across a diverse range of people and you bring a positive, can do attitude to everything you do.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in administration, programme coordination, quality systems, or something similar
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of keeping accurate, complete records
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working with databases and Microsoft Office
- The ability to juggle competing priorities and work independently
- A friendly, professional manner and a genuine team player mindset
- Experience in the primary sector, agriculture, or a compliance environment would be a bonus
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience
- A current New Zealand full driver licence
- Be part of a close knit, high performing team doing meaningful work for a key New Zealand industry
- Build relationships with stakeholders right across the country
- A genuine development pathway for someone ready to grow into a quality assurance leadership role
- Wellington based, full time in a great office environment
