About the Opportunity:
Our client is a newly established organisation entering an exciting phase of growth and development. With the foundations now in place, they are seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner, part-time 3 days per week, to help embed and evolve their people practices, support leaders and contribute to building a positive, high-performing workplace.

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Chief Executive and senior leadership team, this is a varied role offering a great balance of business partnering, operational HR and continuous improvement.

Much of the groundwork has already been completed, including the development of core HR policies, performance management and remuneration frameworks. The opportunity now is to bring these to life, refine them as the organisation matures and provide practical, trusted people advice across the business.

About the Role:
With plenty of variety, responsibilities will include:
  •  Providing pragmatic, commercially sound HR and employment relations advice to leaders and managers.
  •  Leading end-to-end recruitment activity, including supporting the establishment of a new investment team.
  •  Embedding and further developing performance management processes, coaching managers and supporting review cycles.
  •  Supporting the implementation of remuneration frameworks and annual review processes.
  •  Helping embed the organisation's culture and supporting initiatives that strengthen engagement and performance.
  •  Reviewing and improving existing HR policies, processes, onboarding and people practices.
  •  Strengthening health, safety and wellbeing practices, working collaboratively with others across a shared workplace.
  •  Maintaining accurate people records and ensuring effective day-to-day HR administration.
About You:
You'll be an experienced HR generalist and Business Partner who enjoys the breadth of the HR function and is equally comfortable advising senior leaders as you are rolling up your sleeves and getting things done.

You'll bring sound New Zealand employment legislation knowledge, recruitment capability and experience supporting performance management, remuneration and broader people initiatives.

Importantly, you'll be someone who:
  •  Is proactive, self-managing and confident working with a high degree of autonomy.
  •  Builds trusted relationships and communicates comfortably at all organisational levels.
  •  Enjoys coaching managers and building their confidence in people leadership.
  •  Brings a practical, solutions-focused approach and good professional judgement.
  •  Is adaptable, organised and comfortable working in an evolving environment.
  •  Genuinely enjoys the operational aspects of HR as well as contributing at a more strategic level.
  • You'll hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Law or a related field, or bring equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience within research, science or innovation environments, the technology sector or the public sector would be advantageous, as would exposure to establishing or improving HR frameworks.
Intrigued?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced P&C Business Partner looking for meaningful, varied work in a growing business with a positive, collaborative environment, supportive leadership and the opportunity to make a tangible contribution as its people practices continue to develop.

The role offers three days per week on a 12 month fixed term contract, with the potential for a longer-term arrangement; and it comes with an attractive remuneration package.
