Stroke Aotearoa is the national charity dedicated solely to preventing stroke and improving the lives of stroke survivors, their whānau and carers. With an ambitious growth agenda, they are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead their Marketing & Communications team and put marketing at the heart of how the organisation grows its reach, services and impact.
The opportunity
Reporting to the GM Marketing & Fundraising, this is a broad marketing leadership role with ownership across the full marketing mix – including strategy, brand, digital, campaigns, channels, audience engagement, market positioning and product and service development. You’ll lead a Communications Advisor and Marketing Officer, alongside managing external creative support.
A major focus will be bringing a stronger commercial, customer and product marketing lens to the organisation. You’ll use audience insight, market intelligence and performance data to identify opportunities, develop propositions and manage marketing across the full product and service lifecycle - from concept, positioning and go-to-market through to ongoing growth, optimisation and performance.
You’ll work across both established and emerging products and services, ensuring Stroke Aotearoa has a clear understanding of its audiences, strong market positioning and an integrated approach across paid, owned and earned channels. You’ll also partner closely with fundraising to ensure marketing activity contributes directly to supporter engagement and sustainable income growth.
About you
You’ll be an experienced marketing leader who can think strategically while remaining comfortable getting into delivery. You’ll bring broad experience across the marketing mix, with a strong understanding of brand, digital, campaigns, customer segmentation, product marketing and go-to-market strategy.
You’ll have experience taking products, services or initiatives from insight and concept through to launch and ongoing optimisation, with the ability to use data, customer insight and ROI to guide decisions.
Commercially minded and audience-focused, you’ll be capable of leading a small team while influencing across a wider organisation. Experience within health, disability, social impact or the not-for-profit sector would be useful, but isn’t essential.
This is an opportunity to take a well-known and highly respected purpose-led brand and shape how it markets itself, develops its offering and engages New Zealanders - ultimately helping Stroke Aotearoa grow its reach, revenue and impact.
