Our client is a values-led organisation known for its supportive culture and genuine commitment to helping people achieve their goals through education.

Experience within the New Zealand education sector is essential

They pride themselves on creating positive, people-first experiences and supporting learners every step of the way.

They are currently looking for Lead Engagement Specialists to play a key role in connecting with prospective students and guiding them through the early stages of their learning journey.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective students, helping them feel informed, supported, and confident as they explore their study options.

Through warm outreach and meaningful conversations, you’ll take the time to understand each individual’s goals, answer questions, and ensure they are set up for success before transitioning them through to the wider team.

This role is less about “selling” and more about building trust, nurturing interest, and providing a positive, supportive experience from the very first interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Connect with prospective students through outbound calls and follow-ups
  • Take the time to understand individual goals, motivations, and circumstances
  • Provide clear, accurate, and helpful information about programmes and processes
  • Gently guide and qualify enquiries to ensure the right fit for both the student and the organisation
  • Maintain accurate records of conversations and next steps
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a seamless and supportive student journey
  • Contribute to a welcoming, student-focused experience at every touchpoint
About You
  • Experience within the New Zealand education sector is essential
  • Background in student support, customer service, engagement, or similar people-focused roles
  • A naturally warm, personable, and empathetic communication style
  • Someone who enjoys helping others and takes a genuine interest in people’s goals
  • A “no job too small” attitude – happy to roll up your sleeves and support where needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage follow-ups and information accurately
  • Confident on the phone, but focused on conversation over conversion
  • Positive, proactive, and team-oriented
Other Requirements
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural competency
  • Availability to work late shifts (up to 7pm) and occasional Saturdays
  • Immediate start preferred
Why Apply?
  • Join a supportive, people-first organisation making a real impact
  • Be part of a team that genuinely cares about student outcomes
  • Work in a role where you can build meaningful connections and help guide people toward their future
