Lead Business Analyst | Permanent | Auckland (Hybrid)
This is an opportunity for an experienced Lead Business Analyst to take a leadership role in shaping how business analysis is delivered across a large and complex digital and technology environment.
About the role
You’ll take ownership of the Business Analysis Practice and Centre of Excellence, developing the standards, frameworks, tools and ways of working that support consistent, high-quality analysis across programmes, projects and initiatives.

A key focus will be lifting BA capability and delivery maturity across the portfolio. You’ll strengthen requirements and process analysis, introduce practical quality and assurance practices, and help teams improve how scope, business outcomes and stakeholder needs are defined and managed. You'll remain hands-on personally leading or supporting BA activity across a selected complex, high-risk or strategically important initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and continuously developing the Business Analysis Practice and Centre of Excellence. Defining practical BA standards, frameworks, methodologies, templates, tools and playbooks
- Establishing BA assurance and quality review practices across the portfolio
- Reviewing requirements, business cases, process models and solution scope to identify risks and areas for improvement
- Coaching and mentoring Business Analysts and Senior Business Analysts to build a strong BA community focused on collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
- Leading BA activities directly across selected complex or high-impact initiatives
You’ll be an experienced Business Analyst who has progressed beyond individual project delivery into BA leadership, capability uplift and assurance. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- 10+ years’ experience across Business Analysis, digital delivery or business transformation
- Experience establishing, leading or significantly uplifting a BA Practice, Community of Practice or Centre of Excellence
- Strong requirements management, business process modelling, facilitation and stakeholder management capability
- Experience providing BA assurance across project, programme or portfolio environments
- A strong track record coaching and mentoring Business Analysts
