A large NZ organisation is bringing on a hands-on Cyber/Infrastructure Engineer to support their Group Cyber function. This is a BAU-focused contract role - you'll be embedded in an established team and expected to hit the ground running on vulnerability management, patching, and security operations from day one.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Monitor security alerts and act on incidents and potential threats proactively - don't wait for a ticket
- Manage vulnerability identification and remediation through Tenable, including raising and coordinating Change Requests.
- Investigate phishing emails and network activity via Office 365 Admin and network logs.
- Execute monthly patching cycles across Dev, Test, and Production environments in the correct sequence.
- Deploy and manage applications and configurations via SCCM across Windows Server and Desktop environments.
- Run security awareness and compliance campaigns via KnowBe4, following up with end users and managers to ensure completion.
What You'll Need:
- Solid Windows Server and Desktop systems engineering background.
- Hands-on patching experience - you know the correct order (Dev → Test/QA → Staging → Production) and can automate the process.
- Experience with Tenable for vulnerability scanning and management.
- Familiarity with SCCM for application deployment and configuration.
- Working knowledge of Office 365 Admin and network log analysis.
- Comfortable operating within an existing cyber security framework.
