Are you a technically sharp facilities professional ready for a career-defining adventure?
This is not your average facilities role. We're looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to take on a rare and exciting fixed-term international assignment, based in Moscow for three years, representing a New Zealand organisation.
If you thrive on variety, love solving complex problems, and want to take your career global, read on.
The Role
You'll have full accountability for the reliable and safe operation of a portfolio of properties in Moscow, combining hands-on technical work with strategic asset management, maintenance planning, and health and safety oversight.
This is a genuinely unique opportunity, part technical all-rounder, part strategic planner, part relationship manager. You'll work closely with teams in both Moscow and Wellington, manage local contractors and service providers, and act as the go-to expert for all things facilities and technical.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing and driving maintenance programmes and long-term asset lifecycle strategies
- Managing budgets, asset records, and capital investment programmes
- Leading and supporting a small, capable maintenance team
- Managing contractor relationships and service contracts
- Identifying efficiencies and championing continuous improvement
- Providing health and safety oversight across all properties
- Troubleshooting and coordinating resolutions for technical and property issues
- Bridging communication between local operations and the Wellington-based team
You're a confident, adaptable technical professional who's as comfortable working with your hands as you are presenting a strategic asset plan. You can hold your own in cross-cultural environments and thrive when no two days look the same.
You'll bring:
- A trade qualification in construction, mechanical/electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or residential building services, facilities management, or related fields
- Demonstrated capability in asset lifecycle management, risk management, and maintenance planning
- Experience managing contractors and navigating commercial contracts
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
What's in It for You:
- Competitive salary: $90,000 – $124,000 total remuneration (inclusive of KiwiSaver employer contribution)
- Additional offshore provisions and benefits for international postings
- A rare chance to live and work in one of the world's most culturally rich cities
- The satisfaction of a role that genuinely matters, combining hands-on impact with big-picture strategy
- You must be a New Zealand citizen
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- You'll need to meet health requirements for international travel and posting
