This role is ideal for a Tech Lead who enjoys working in large, interconnected environments, can guide teams through technically complex change, and is comfortable operating alongside infrastructure, application and business stakeholders.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Providing technical leadership across Exchange implementation, migration and decommissioning workstreams
- Setting and guiding technical approaches for legacy Exchange 2016 decommissioning and transition to modern messaging platforms
- Supporting and validating migration and remediation strategies to minimise business disruption
- Leading technical oversight of server, application and service discovery activities related to Exchange dependencies
- Reviewing dependency maps, inventories and readiness reports to inform delivery decisions
- Acting as a technical escalation point for complex integration, messaging and identity issues
- Working closely with Technical Business Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers and Application Owners to translate requirements into executable technical solutions
- Ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards, change processes and operational readiness
- Proven experience as an Engineering Tech Lead or Technical Lead in complex enterprise environments with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (on-prem and online), including migration and decommissioning
- Experience leading or supporting Exchange 2016/2019 to Exchange Online initiatives
- Strong understanding of messaging protocols, integrations and dependency patterns (SMTP, calendaring, notifications)
- Experience working across application and service discovery activities in large environments
- PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting and analysis
- Good understanding of Azure services and hybrid identity integration
- Comfortable interpreting logs, troubleshooting complex issues and working with APIs
- Familiarity with ITIL-aligned environments and change governance
