About the role
We’re looking for experienced Data Engineers to join a growing data and technology consultancy in Auckland.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex data problems but is equally comfortable working directly with clients, understanding their business needs and translating those into practical, commercially sound solutions.
You’ll work across a range of client environments and projects, designing and delivering modern data solutions with a particular focus on dbt and Databricks. You’ll be responsible for:
- Designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and transformation solutions.
- Developing robust data models and transformation workflows using dbt.
- Working extensively with Databricks across modern data platforms.
- Partnering with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Providing technical guidance and recommendations throughout the delivery lifecycle.
You’ll be an experienced Data Engineer who combines strong technical capability with the communication and commercial skills needed to succeed in a consulting environment. You’ll bring:
- Proven Data Engineering experience within a consulting, professional services or client-facing environment with strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
- Strong hands-on expertise with dbt and Databricks.
- Experience designing and delivering modern data pipelines, transformations and data models.
- Good commercial acumen and an understanding of how technical decisions impact project and business outcomes.
- Relevant Databricks, dbt, cloud or data engineering certifications.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple clients and projects.
