Lead exceptional client work and help build an exceptional consulting practice.
Most consulting roles ask you to deliver exceptional client work, but f
ew give you the opportunity to help shape the future of the consulting practice itself. This is one of those rare opportunities!

Our client is a highly regarded boutique People, Culture and Leadership consultancy known for building trusted relationships and delivering practical, commercially sound advice that genuinely makes a difference.

They partner with business owners, executives and leadership teams across a diverse range of industries, helping organisations navigate complexity, strengthen leadership and create high-performing workplaces. From technology and professional services to healthcare, construction, financial services and more.

Their reputation has been built on authenticity, quality and long-term partnerships. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced consulting leader to work alongside the Founder and help shape the next chapter of the practice.

The opportunity:
This is much more than a client delivery role. You'll work in partnership with the Founder, providing leadership across the consulting practice while remaining closely connected to clients.

Around 80% of your time will be spent leading People & Capability engagements spanning strategic advisory, organisational change, leadership, culture, organisational design and sometimes, complex employment relations.

You'll coach and mentor consultants, strengthen consulting capability, contribute to business development and identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand the firm's impact.

You'll have genuine influence over how the practice grows while continuing to do the work that makes consulting rewarding—building trusted relationships, solving complex challenges and helping clients succeed.

About you:
You're likely already working in a consulting, advisory or professional services environment and thrive on the pace, variety and challenge that consulting brings.

You're someone people naturally trust. You build credibility quickly, ask thoughtful questions and translate complexity into practical, commercially sound advice. Whether partnering with a CEO, coaching a leader through a difficult conversation or facilitating an executive discussion, you bring confidence, warmth and sound judgement in equal measure.

You bring broad HR generalist expertise, underpinned by strong New Zealand Employment Relations capability and the confidence to lead complex workplace matters, organisational change and strategic People initiatives.

You're equally comfortable working with executive teams, mentoring consultants and navigating the commercial realities of consulting, balancing exceptional client outcomes with sustainable business growth.

You're naturally curious and commercially astute, with a continuous improvement mindset and a genuine interest in building long-term client relationships. You enjoy finding better ways of working, embrace technology to enhance delivery, and are motivated by helping both clients and colleagues succeed.

Above all, you will relish being part of a boutique consultancy where relationships come first, quality is never compromised, ideas are welcomed and everyone is prepared to roll up their sleeves to support each other and deliver outstanding outcomes.

Lead exceptional client work. Help build an exceptional consulting practice.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuine consulting leadership role where you'll work alongside an inspirational founder to help shape the future of an established and growing consultancy.

You'll enjoy autonomy, the variety that comes from partnering with exceptional clients, and the opportunity to help build a consulting practice that values authenticity, excellence and genuine relationships as much as commercial success.
If you're ready to combine exceptional consulting with the opportunity to help shape an outstanding boutique practice, call Sharon Ward Duncan on 021 356 777 for a confidential conversation or Apply Now.
