Do you enjoy helping organisations stay connected when it matters most?

Our client, an established New Zealand critical communications provider, is looking for a Business Development Manager to win new business and grow key customer relationships.

This is a chance to sell well beyond traditional two-way radio hardware. You'll offer end-to-end critical communications solutions to help customers modernise how their field teams, vehicles, sites and control rooms work together.

About the role:

You'll combine business development, account management and consultative solution selling. Your day-to-day will include:
  • Finding and developing new opportunities across transport, logistics, construction, utilities, manufacturing, security, events, infrastructure and local government, and keeping a strong, qualified pipeline
  • Building relationships with operational, technical, IT and commercial decision-makers
  • Managing and growing an assigned customer portfolio, and spotting upgrade, expansion and cross-sell opportunities
  • Developing solutions spanning analogue and DMR radio (conventional and trunked), RF infrastructure, and dispatch and control-room platforms
  • Preparing accurate quotations, proposals and tender responses, and owning pricing, gross margin and negotiation within approved parameters
  • Keeping CRM records, pipeline reporting, forecasts and account plans accurate, while working towards revenue, gross-margin, recurring-revenue and new-business targets
About you:

Essential
  • Proven B2B sales, business development or account management experience, with strong new-business and opportunity-conversion skills
  • Credibility with operational, technical, IT and commercial stakeholders, and strong written and verbal communication
  • Commercial confidence with quotations, margins, contracts and negotiation
  • The ability to learn technical products and explain them in plain business language
  • Self-motivation and disciplined pipeline management
  • A full New Zealand driver licence
Highly desirable
  • Experience selling two-way radio, telecommunications, ICT or critical communications solutions
  • Knowledge of DMR, RF infrastructure, dispatch platforms, Radio-over-IP and interoperability
  • Experience in transport, infrastructure, utilities, logistics, construction or other operationally critical sectors
If you're proactive, commercial and interested in technology, you're practical and can build credibility with users and senior management alike and you focus on long-term partnerships, not one-off transactions - this is for you!
