Application QA Test Analyst | Permanent | Auckland 

Opportunity to join a collaborative tech team as their go-to mobile quality expert, responsible for testing and validating Android and iOS applications end to end.

About the role

This is a hands-on mobile QA role where you will be embedded in a engineering team building native iOS and Android applications. You will play a key part in driving quality early in the development cycle from unit and component testing through to UI, functional, and API testing, and own the end-to-end testing process from development through to distribution via Firebase and the App and Play Stores. Your key responsibilities include:

• Facilitating and executing native app testing across iOS and Android platforms
• Driving shift-left testing practices including unit and component-level testing
• Performing UI and functional testing across both platforms
• Managing app distribution via Firebase App Distribution, App Store, and Google Play Store
• API testing using Postman and network traffic analysis using Charles Proxy
• Developing and maintaining automated test suites using Appium
• Working within Xcode and Android Studio environments
• Collaborating closely with developers and product managers to embed quality throughout the SDLC

About you

You are a mobile-focused QA professional who is comfortable working across both platforms and takes pride in finding issues before they ever reach a user. You'll bring:

• Solid experience testing native iOS and/or Android applications
• Hands-on experience with Appium for mobile test automation
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or Java for scripting and automation
• Familiarity with Charles Proxy or similar network proxying tools (e.g., Beaver)
• Experience with Firebase App Distribution for test builds
• Comfortable working with Xcode and Android Studio
• API testing experience using Postman
• Understanding of shift-left testing principles — unit, component, and integration testing
• Knowledge of App Store and Google Play Store submission and distribution processes
• A collaborative, quality-first mindset with strong attention to detail
