AI Engineer (Claude & Copilot)

AI Engineer (Claude & Copilot) | Contract (6-month)
We're looking for an AI Engineer (or a Software Engineer with strong AI experience who wants to specialise) to join a major Auckland organisation as they establish an enterprise AI Foundation Service. You'll help create the platforms, frameworks and reusable components that enable AI adoption across the business.

This is a genuine opportunity to shape how AI is delivered at scale rather than simply consuming existing tools.

About the Role

You'll be part of a team building an AI Centre of Excellence, responsible for creating the foundations that future enterprise AI products will be built on.

You'll be involved in:

• Designing and building AI agents using Claude Enterprise
• Developing reusable AI services and enterprise frameworks
• Working with Microsoft Copilot to accelerate business capability
• Establishing best practice, governance and standards for enterprise AI
• Collaborating with engineering, architecture and business teams to deliver scalable AI solutions

About You

You'll bring a mix of software engineering and AI experience, along with a genuine passion for where enterprise AI is heading.

Ideally you'll have:

• Commercial experience with Claude Enterprise and/or Microsoft Copilot
• Experience building AI agents, assistants or GenAI solutions
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications
• An understanding of prompt engineering, LLMs and enterprise AI architecture
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders
