The role
This is a hands-on accounting role. You'll support a Fast Close month-end process that delivers Day 1 reporting to the business. Your day-to-day will include:
· Preparing and posting month-end journals: accruals, prepayments, revenue, depreciation and WIP
· Bank, suspense and balance sheet reconciliations
· Contractor and permanent staff timesheet accounting
· Project accounting, WIP and capitalisation
· Fixed asset management
· Customer billing and revenue support
· Management and project reporting, GST workpapers, and quarterly Stats NZ reporting
· Working with project managers, auditors and suppliers to investigate variances and resolve exceptions
About you
· An accounting qualification, with practical experience in journals, reconciliations and month-end processing
· Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, including pivot tables and variance analysis
· Experience with enterprise finance systems and structured month-end processes
· High attention to detail and a record of meeting recurring deadlines
· The confidence to question unusual results, follow up missing information and raise errors early
· Clear written and verbal communication
· A practical, flexible approach, and a willingness to own routine tasks as well as the more analytical ones
