FAQ's

What sets you apart from other recruiters in Auckland?
I’ve specialised in marketing, communications, and sales recruitment for some years now and so I have a strong understanding of the industry and the people who work in it. I care a lot about getting it right, both for clients and candidates, and I put real effort into building long-term relationships. My focus is on listening, being genuine, and making sure the process reflects well on everyone involved, including my own brand.

What marketing and comms skills are most in demand right now in Auckland?
Employers are looking for professionals who can blend strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. In marketing, digital capability is key, content creation, campaign analytics, and performance marketing are highly sought after but there’s been a real shift back to those true ‘marketing manager’ skills and understanding how to take a brief. In comms, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, and crisis management are front of mind, especially in public sector and regulated industries. Sales talent with proven B2B experience and that age old ‘hunter’ mentality is also in demand.

How competitive is the Auckland market for marketing and comms professionals?
It’s competitive but shifting. Appetite for risk is low at the moment, and so employers are increasingly selective and looking less at transferable skills. This means candidates need to make their relevance for the role abundantly clear on their CVs and Cover Letters. It’s never been more important to tailor a CV for the role.
