Senior System Engineer

A global Cloud and IT MSP has set up a North Shore office is looking to hire a  Senior Systems Engineer  to join their team of 80+ engineers across the UK, US and Europe.

You'll be part of a team delivering a “follow-the-sun” service, providing 24x7 support services across their global client base. This role is  shift-based  (details below) with daily hand-overs to/from your northern hemisphere colleagues.

The Role

Delivering a wide variety of solutions and services to clients, this role includes:

• 3-month contract with potential for permanent employment
• Level 3 support, troubleshooting, monitoring and configuring systems
• Proactive system upgrades and patching
• Change management governance and impacts assessments
• Maintaining and contributing to the internal knowledge base of technical documentation and SOPs
• Identifying and implementing automation opportunities and areas for service delivery improvement
• Escalation point for other ICT teams

Your skills and background:

• 5+ years' relevant experience as a Microsoft Systems Engineer
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Group Policy, Active Directory Technologies, Server Technologies, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, Veeam and Hyper-V and Storage Technologies
• Experience with cloud tech (Azure, O365, Exchange Online)
• Experience supporting and configuring a range of devices
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Experience of Enterprise Infrastructures and Data Centre Environments

Shifts:

• 12-hour days, 4 days on / 4 days off
• These will be office-based days, working either 7am to 7pm or 8am to 8pm
