We are partnering with a large organisation to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner.
About the role:
This newly created senior role is a unique opportunity to influence the financial future of one of New Zealand’s largest and most complex public organisations. Be involved in a major Shared Services transformation programme, providing financial support and advice to aid decision through shaping business cases, developing a cost recovery framework, and embedding finance into the design of the organisation’s future operating model.
This position is perfect for a commercially minded finance professional who can combine technical expertise with strong communication and relationship skills — someone equally capable of building robust financial models as they are of advising and influencing executives.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the senior finance partner for the Shared Services programme.
- Lead the development of business cases, cost–benefit analysis and financial modelling.
- Design and implement a group-wide cost recovery/recharge model.
- Contribute to the design of finance processes, systems and reporting for the future operating model.
- Engage and partner with executives, programme leads and other key stakeholders to align priorities and deliver outcomes.
- Provide financial insights that highlight risks, opportunities, and support savings delivery.
- CA or equivalent professional registration.
- 10+ years’ experience in senior finance, accounting or business advisory roles.
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
- Proven experience in transformational change projects within complex organisations.
- Advanced financial modelling and commercial analysis expertise.
- Knowledge of shared services and recharge/cost recovery models (preferred).
This is a fixed-term role through to August 2026, offering both stability and the chance to make a lasting impact.
