We’re seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer or BI Platform Engineer to deliver a greenfield Microsoft Fabric platform while supporting migration from legacy systems. You'll be driving momentum, shaping work in ambiguity, and engaging directly with SMEs to extract requirements and deliver outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and optimise data pipelines, ingestion patterns, and dataflows on Microsoft Fabric (or Synapse/ADF + Delta/Lakehouse).
- Translate complex business logic into robust data models.
- Support migration from legacy systems while keeping multiple streams moving.
- Work closely with SMEs across operations, finance, and supply chain to surface requirements and clarify gaps.
- Operate in a dynamic, project-heavy environment where adaptability and initiative are key.
- Travel required - approx. 2 days per week to engage with stakeholders onsite.
- 6–10 years’ experience as a Senior Data Engineer or BI Platform Engineer.
- Strong capability in Microsoft Fabric or equivalent (Synapse/ADF + Delta/Lakehouse).
- Advanced SQL, modelling, and data architecture skills.
- Confident communicator—mature, outgoing, and able to navigate ambiguity.
- Proven ability to work independently and maintain momentum without constant direction.
- Background in manufacturing, energy, supply chain, or finance is ideal, but transferable skills and the right attitude matter most.
