We are seeking a Senior Communications & Engagement Advisor to join our North Shore client in a newly created role within a fast-paced, high-output team.

About the role:
This is not your typical engagement delivery role. It will have a strong marcomms skew, with an emphasis on ensuring consistent, high-quality public-facing messaging and stakeholder reporting across a complex programme of work.
You’ll lead the development of strategy and frameworks to uplift the quality of engagement and communications delivered by contractors and partners.
You will also take a strategic oversight role in how project performance and stakeholder impacts are reported, ensuring transparency and trust with key audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop communication and engagement strategies, standards, and templates for use by contractors and partners.
- Shape the tone, clarity, and quality of public messaging across all channels, with a focus on achieving consistent marcomms outcomes.
- Provide strategic oversight of engagement activities to drive quality and alignment with overarching communication goals.
- Produce clear and engaging reports and insights for stakeholders, local boards, and leadership on project progress and community impacts.
- Support the wider communications team during major incidents or emergencies.
- Lead continuous improvement of communication and engagement approaches, using insights and stakeholder feedback.
- You bring significant experience (7+ years) in communications, engagement, and/or marketing roles within complex environments.
- You are comfortable leading strategy and advising delivery partners to ensure consistent, high-quality communications outcomes.
- You bring a clear understanding of marcomms best practice and how to drive public trust through messaging and transparency.
- You are highly organised, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where frameworks are evolving.
