The Delivery Capability team at New Zealand Police is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Business Analyst to help shape the future of policing in Aotearoa. This is a fixed term position to 30 June 2026, but part of a multi year programme. An extension is highly likely.
This role plays a critical part in delivering transformation and change initiatives across Police, ensuring our organisation is well positioned to achieve its strategic intent. You will engage with operational groups, senior leaders, external agencies, and partners to analyse business needs, define requirements, and design processes that deliver real value to frontline staff and communities.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work self-sufficiently on complex programmes and projects, lead workshops, and act as a trusted conduit between stakeholders and delivery teams. You will also play a key role in mentoring other Business Analysts and embedding best practice across the organisation.
Police are currently seeking the support of a Business Analyst with strong Business Architecture (and ideally SAP experience). The ideal candidate will help them align their technology capabilities with business strategy, ensuring that their systems effectively support operational and strategic goals.
Key Deliverables:
- Development of capability-to-application maps to visualize how IT systems support business functions.
- Creation of value stream models to demonstrate how technology contributes to value delivery.
- Execution of gap and impact analyses to assess current state and inform transformation initiatives.
- Support for strategic initiative alignment, ensuring projects are prioritized based on business value.
- Establishment of architecture principles and standards for consistent and scalable delivery.
- Proven experience in business architecture.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across business and technology domains.
- Experience in capability modeling, value stream mapping, and strategic planning.
- Exposure to SAP implementations and environments highly regarded.
- A desire to make a difference to NZ Inc.
