Pondering your next career move and taking the Christmas and New Year summer break to unwind & relax. This is the perfect time of the year to consider what is important to you and check your career plans are on track.

We are seeking an exceptional P&C Business Partner who brings sharp commercial thinking, depth across the full P&C portfolio, and the confidence to operate at senior executive level. This role is a potential stepping stone to a career-defining opportunity, and into enterprise leadership.

Working within a highly regarded and significant business, you will influence senior executive leaders, navigate competing priorities across functions, and bring clarity and calm into moments of ambiguity. You’ll have one or two direct reports at an P&C Advisor level, but your real impact will come through your ability to lead through influence, building credibility quickly, and shaping high-quality decision-making across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Operate With Executive Presence & Influence

You’ll distill complex people matters into clear, compelling insights for senior executive audiences and confidently challenge thinking where needed. Your excellent communication will shape decisions, influence outcomes, and support leaders in navigating organisational change.
Lead Across a Matrix
You will drive projects and transformation workstreams by aligning senior stakeholders and work seamlessly across functional boundaries. Your ability to bring people together around a common goal will be critical.
Deliver at Scale in a Complex, Multi-Layered Business
You’ll design and implement initiatives for a sizeable portfolio and potentially across the wider 2000+ employee environment, considering operational realities, maturity differences across business units with very different roles, and the dynamics of working with multiple senior leaders.
Apply Commercial Insight to People & Culture Strategy
You’ll use data, commercial drivers, productivity insights, and P&L considerations to shape your P&C recommendations. You’ll balance business realities with people implications to achieve sustainable, high-impact outcomes.
Bring Breadth and Depth Across the P&C Business Partnering Portfolio
You will apply strong contemporary experience in generalist HR facets, people best practice, cultural and organisational change, ER, capability frameworks, policy, and much more. You’ll handle complexity with confidence and provide sound, timely advice.
Demonstrate Personal Effectiveness & Resilience
With pace, volume, and shifting priorities, you’ll remain composed, adaptable, and outcome focused. You’ll model emotional regulation and a learning mindset, even when managing difficult stakeholders or situations.
Build Your Career Pathway
You will be exposed to enterprise-wide issues and thinking, contribute to organisation-level strategy, uplift capability in others, and broaden your leadership footprint. This role has a clear pathway to step up into a career-defining opportunity and enterprise leadership.

About You:
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
  • Strong executive presence and clarity in communication
  • Proven ability to influence senior executive leaders
  • Recent experience operating in complex and large-scale environments
  • Commercial acumen and strong data literacy
  • Depth across change, employee relations and contemporary P&C practice
  • Resilience, adaptability, and strong personal effectiveness
  • Curiosity, ambition, and readiness for the next leadership step
  • Commitment to being Auckland-based with some travel
Why This Role?
  • Genuine potential for succession to a senior P&C leadership role
  • Supportive and impressive P&C team with a growing reputation for excellence and who will be eager to see you succeed
  • Inspirational CPO who is highly respected internally and externally amongst their contemporaries
  • Flexible working arrangements for work/life balance and attractive remuneration package
