HR Business Partner – Fixed Term (Parental Leave Cover)
Auckland CBD | Until Mid-August 2026
We’re looking for a confident and experienced Senior HR Advisor who is ready to make the step up to a Business Partner role with lots of variety in a forward-thinking and growing organisation with a clear purpose that its people are proud of.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a broad role on a fixed-term basis for 13 months covering parental leave through to mid-August 2026, and partner closely with people leaders to drive impactful people initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
About the role
As HR Business Partner to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll lead the delivery of a targeted people plan that lifts capability, performance, and culture. You’ll apply your coaching and influencing skills to empower managers and staff, enable change, and embed inclusive, values-led practices that support high-performing teams. You’ll also contribute to broader people and culture initiatives across the organisation, including health, safety and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and organisational development.
Working in an awesome People team you'll be well supported and relish the opportunity to learn from a smart strategic CPO and two Senior HR Business Partners. As well, you can expect a thorough hand-over from the incumbent, who is amazing, according to the CPO. Why Amazing? Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with senior leaders to deliver a fit-for-purpose people plan
- Providing strategic and operational HR advice across performance, talent, succession, engagement and workforce planning
- Leading and embedding cultural change aligned to business objectives
- Supporting Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives across a multi-PCBU environment
- Advising on employee relations matters and driving positive resolution
- Contributing to cyclical HR activity including remuneration reviews, recruitment, and reporting
- Championing diversity, equity and inclusion across the organisation
- Proven HR generalist experience, ideally in fast-paced and values-led corporate environments and you know 'what good looks like'
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to coach, influence and constructively challenge as a trusted advisor
- Sound understanding of employment law, organisational development, and change management
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and high-performing cultures
- Can-do attitude, willing to support other team members, such as covering for them when on leave
- Embrace new HR technology and value ongoing personal learning & development
The People team are generally in the fabulous CBD office 3 days per week and have flexible working arrangements. Ideally you'll be able to do a little travel occasionally to growing offices outside of Auckland.
