At Vessev, we’re defining a new category of marine transport: hydrofoiling electric vessels that are genuinely better for people and the planet. Last year, we launched our first vessel, the VS–9, and made headlines in Forbes, Electrek, New Atlas, and more. It was a big step forward, and just the beginning.
With strong momentum, global interest, and major milestones ahead, we’re looking for a Creative Content Specialist to help us bring Vessev’s story to life, on social and beyond.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape the identity of a category-defining, Kiwi startup from the earliest stage. There’s so much scope to make this role your own, and we want you to create something you’re insanely proud of.
What you’ll be doing:
This is a hands-on, creative role with real ownership. You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality content and running our social channels – from shooting and scheduling to engagement and analytics. As a foundational member of the marketing team, you’ll have the chance to add value wherever you see opportunity, and help grow our brand from the ground up. You’ll work closely with the Head of Marketing and wider team to develop ideas, shape stories, and create content that has real impact. You’ll also work closely with our awesome agency partners, helping manage relationships, coordinate deliverables, and keep everything moving.
Content creation
- Plan, shoot, and edit content across formats – including short-form video, photography, and social-first storytelling
- Capture key moments: vessels in action, engineering milestones, behind-the-scenes, customer stories etc.
- Write strong, on-brand copy for posts, scripts, our website etc.
- Ensure all content reflects Vessev’s brand, values, and visual identity
- Own the day-to-day running of Vessev’s social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook)
- Plan and schedule content
- Manage proactive and reactive community engagement
- Monitor and report on key metrics to help inform decisions and optimise activity
- Stay on top of trends and best practices, helping to evolve our approach
- Support content needs across the business from website updates to sales decks
- Create and manage timelines and deliverables across campaigns and launches
- Work closely with creative agency partners to deliver high-quality content and 3D renders
- Ensure all creative outputs align with brand standards and marketing objectives
About you: You don’t need to be an expert in marine, hydrofoiling, or electric transport. What matters most is that you’re intelligent, willing to muck in, and care about doing meaningful work.
You’re a strong all-round content creator who’s equally comfortable holding a camera, writing a caption, or planning a social calendar. You understand social deeply: how to use it to build a brand, engage different audiences, and drive marketing objectives. You’re curious, collaborative, and care about quality.
We’re looking for someone with
- 2–5 years of experience in content creation, creative marketing or social media
- Proven ability to shoot, edit, and deliver high-quality short-form video content – especially for social platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts
- Strong camera skills (DSLR/mirrorless), and editing proficiency with tools like Premiere Pro, Lightroom, etc.
- Excellent writing skills across a range of formats and tones
- Hands-on experience managing brand social media accounts – including scheduling, community management, and reporting
- Excellent organisation and project management skills
- A solid understanding of how content supports marketing and brand growth
- A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude. We all roll up our sleeves, and no job’s too big or small
- A collaborative mindset. You work well with others and care about doing great work together
- A genuine desire to work on something that’s meaningful and future-focused
- Drone, GoPro and 360 camera skills are a bonus
About us: We’re here to set a better world in motion – cleaner air, better commutes, and deeper connections with nature and each other. Our hydrofoiling electric vessels use up to 90% less energy than traditional boats, unlocking entirely new opportunities.
We’re backed by top-tier investors including Blackbird Ventures, and our team includes talent from the America’s Cup, SpaceX, Rocketlab, Halter, Apple, and leading climate startups. But titles don’t matter here – what matters is how we show up: with purpose, humility, and a restless optimism for what’s possible.
We’re office-first but not office-only. We believe in building together, in person, where the real magic happens. That said, we trust our team to do what’s right and we know life isn’t one-size-fits-all.
