He recruits across both permanent and contract roles covering the full data lifecycle – from Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence & Data Visualisation, and Analytics, through to Data Science & AI.
Having spent more than a decade immersed in the sector, he has witnessed first-hand how the data landscape has transformed from the early rise of Data Science and visualisation tools to the shift towards modern cloud data platforms, and now AI. Each development has seen major business investment, and he has been at the forefront in helping organisations grow and establish their data teams.

Before moving into recruitment, Peter spent 15+ years in the legal profession in the UK. What trends are you seeing in the data market right now?
Businesses continue to invest heavily in modern cloud data platforms. Snowflake seems to remain the market leader in NZ right now although it will be interesting to see whether Databricks secures more ground over the next 12–18 months.
What upskilling advice would you give to data professionals?
The world of data has evolved so much in the last decade that outside upskilling in the latest technologies, I believe the real game changer and point of difference will be those data professionals who can show adaptability, curiosity and a commercial mindset. Growing your skill set in these areas will be a key to success in the post AI era.
What is your main tip for how a candidate can secure their next role?
The most important thing in my view is to ensure your CV tells the “right story” about your experience in a way that best aligns you to the role you are applying for.
